Do you remember a few weeks ago I posted about the American Legion District Oratorical Competition in Wichita Falls?  Well, this past Saturday the American Legion Post 71 hosted the 1st Division Competition in Denton, Texas at the historical old Courthouse on the square....below is what they posted after the event..... Well after a full week of severe ice and snow guess what happened....did we dry out?   Oh no, we didn't dry out....we started getting hit with rain.  And when I say rain, I am talking full on thunderstorms with lightning strikes!  We are sitting here with several houses that need to be moved, however, heavy loads and mud just doesn't go together very well....HI...HI...  So this week's forecast is rain, rain, rain and more rain......  Grandma always said there will be a silver lining no matter what, sometimes you just have to look a little bit harder for it.....  So...

I am pleased to report that we have been in touch with the Nashville Amateur Radio Association in Nashville, TN.  Discussing the possibility of expanding the "Cast Party" into a Ham Fest with entertainment, VE testing and a Memorial Service remembering all that we have lost.  As decisions are made, I will post here first on my QRZ page.  Keep your fingers crossed...HI....HI....   And now for more exciting news........My Sister, Toni and myself, along with Randy, The Lone Wolf, from the TV show had originally planned a cruise for May of 2020......then due to the COVID we had to...

I will be the first to admit I don't look good in green, however, my Elmer (Rex W5EAK) is 99.999999999% Irish!!!!!! So in honor of him, I will find something green for St. Paddy's day coming up soon.  Yesterday P1 (currently studing for her Technician License) and I met our Miss N.T.H.S.R.A. Queens Contestants down in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards for the "Cowtown Goes Green Parade".  The streets were lined with people, a lot of tourist.....and a lot of little kids so excited to be there for the parade.   So much preperation goes into putting on a parade, my...
